Umeå students pay visit to Vaasa Energy Week in Finland

Through a collaboration between “Kompetensspridning” in Sweden and “Teknologicenter Merinova” in Finland, eight students from the energy engineering programme at Umeå University had a chance to visit Vaasa Energy Week in Finland.

The students selected participated in the WIND EXCHANGE & SOLAR and AFRICA ENERGY FORUM held during the exhibition. The programme also included study visits to two companies, VEO Pdf, 441.8 kB, opens in new window. and Wärtsilä Pdf, 273.5 kB, opens in new window..

The students gave the trip high marks with at least half of them figuring they had made contacts which could lead to future PhD work, apprenticeships or jobs. All of them would recommend this trip to
their fellow students. Africa Energy Forum was one of the events most appreciated but we also heard comments ranging from “Everything was great” to “Incredible!” which feels extremely satisfying.
